Interfaith Works is sponsoring a screening of the documentary, “Doctrine of Discovery: In the Name of Christ.”
This 43-minute documentary introduces the history of the Doctrine of Discovery, its basis in Christian theology, its effects on Indigenous Peoples today, and how we might start to undo it. The film features interviews with Indigenous scholars, leaders, and activists from around the world, as well as Christian theologians and pastors. Join others from various faith and religious communities across Thurston County to watch the documentary and participate in small facilitated groups to process the film with a supplied study guide and discussion prompts. |
I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
